How Does One Forgive?

This is a question which has often come into my mind.
How does a woman forgive a man who has treated her as an object of lust? Hurt her and then deserted her?
I know forgiveness comes with time, but, how do you really learn how to forgive? Or, is it that you forgive - but find forgetting the hardest?
Can someone explain this to me?

Hope I can be forgiven for posting my dumb thoughts, but I have found an odd fact about being hurt, lied to, and used by men: One way you can forgive that is the fact that they DID leave you. The worst ones stay and continue the cruel Ab*se.

The ones that went away, you can let them go because you don't need them at all. Have a prayer for their future victims. Give thanks you are free of them.

Also, because of them, you can prize a good man more highly by the contrasts between him and them there others. I have seen women who, by a stroke of good luck, marry young a wonderful, loving man and simply have no idea of what they HAVE. Their female vanity may grow to betray them, mistreat the hero, and then fall into the clutches of the worst.

You might want to whisper to God a 'thank you' for ridding you of bad rubbish.

I feel sometimes like i have forgiven him, but then i realise i havent, then i feel like i have again, but always go back to realising i havent really

Maybe i would forgive him if he admitted what he did...

You know, a lady who is married and on CF and who now has 2 little babies still has terrible nightmares and is still trying to forgive the person who M*l*st*d her as a child. She can forgive alright, but her main problem is the forgetting. She feels he stole her youth and vitality and drained her emotionally and physically. I believe that. So he would have drained her as a little girl! Now, she is the mother of a little baby girl, I can see her being so very protective of her where men are concerned.
But, I often wonder if the protectiveness will still apply when she is at school and especially High School.
You see how these things have such impact?
