Need some encouragement?

I've collected a number of verses and a couple of sayings that have really helped my friends and I through some tough situations. Thought I might just share them with you.

And thanks to many of the members here, who gave me a lot of these verses.

Psalm 16:8

I know the LORD is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him,who have been called according to his purpose.

Psalm 34:18

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted

and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

1 Peter 5:10

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.

1 Peter 1: 6-9

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that your faith–of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire–may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. 8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Jeremiah 29: 11

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Matthew 5: 3-4

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 4Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.

Deuteronomy 31: 8

The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Matthew 10: 29-31

Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. 30And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. 31So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.

Psalm 118: 5

In my anguish I cried to the LORD ,

and he answered by setting me free.

Psalm 46: 10

"Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations,

I will be exalted in the earth."

Psalm 27: 14

Wait for the LORD ;

be strong and take heart

and wait for the LORD .

"To shake the planet - God needs to shake you first."

1 Corinthians 6:19-20

Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Isaiah 41:10

10 So do not fear, for I am with you;

do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

Isaiah 40:28-31

28 Do you not know?

The LORD is the everlasting God,

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

2 Corinthians 1:8-11

We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about the hardships we suffered in the province of Asia. But this happened that we might not rely on ourselves but on God, who raises the dead. 10He has delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. Psalm 46:1-3

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give away and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea though it's waters roar and foam and the mountains quake wuth their surging." -

Isaiah 41:10

"Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."

Deuteronomy 31:6

"The Lord God goes with you; He will never leave nor forsake you."
